Summer course for Cellists and other string and wind players

You will get solo lessons and the possibility to observe the other students lessons.

We develop different improvisations in the group. Don’t worry: all you need is curiousity. Humour and the joy of playing will come naturally.

My special interest is two aspects:

-music as communication

I do improvisations since many years. I have found many different ways to create my own music, but I am not a jazz player. We start from where we are and we don’t care about any „style“. This time we will also play outside at beautiful places on the island.

-the relationship: improvisation-interpretation

The freer we invent our own music the better we play any composition.

The more we understand the composer’s skills the better is our improvising.

Ensemble playing is fun. It helps us to know each other and it just sounds great.

The last day we present some results of our work in a concert in the wonderful Church in Gudhjem.

Every day at 1 pm we will have Organic, vegetarian lunch. There will be tea and cake breaks during the days.
